Transportation options at Walt Disney World with easiest access. Allonsy Travel.

One of the biggest factors in choosing where to stay at Walt Disney World is how easy it is to get from your resort to the parks. With over 25 resorts to choose from, transportation can make a huge difference in your overall experience. While every resort offers complimentary bus service, a select group has the best transportation options thanks to access to the Monorail, Skyliner, or Water Taxis.

Here are the top resorts with the easiest ways to get around:

Monorail Resorts

Staying at a monorail resort means you’re just steps away from a direct ride to Magic Kingdom and a transfer to Epcot.

  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Walkable to Magic Kingdom and on the monorail loop.

  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Tropical vibes and quick access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot via monorail.

  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Elegant, iconic, and a one-stop ride away from Magic Kingdom (or walkable), and transfer to get to Epcot.

Best for: Guests who want the fastest access to Magic Kingdom.

Vacation Specialist Tip: Not all rooms at Contemporary Resort are created equal. If you want the most convenient room and the shortest walk to Magic Kingdom, make sure you are booking a Main Tower Room.

Skyliner Resorts

The Disney Skyliner gondolas offer fast, scenic rides to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

  • Disney’s Riviera Resort – Deluxe accommodations with a direct service to Epcot, transfer lines to get to Hollywood Studios.

  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – The central Skyliner hub; connects to all Skyliner lines.

  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort – Value resort, will transfer at Caribbean Beach to access Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Another Value option, shares the same Skyliner stop as Pop Century.

Best for: Guests who want more affordable resorts (excluding Disney’s Riviera Resort) with quick access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Vacation Specialist Tip: The Skyliner resorts do not offer alternate transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Check with your travel party to make sure everyone will be comfortable riding a Skyliner gondola. Also be aware that the Skyliner will close for inclement weather and guests will be rerouted to bus transportation.

Ferry Boat Resorts

Resorts with boat service offer a fun and relaxing way to reach Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Hollywood Studios.

  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom plus stunning woodsy vibes.

  • Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – Ferry Boat straight to Magic Kingdom.

  • Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn – Walk or Friendship Boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Best for: Guests who want a peaceful alternative to buses and like being near the water.

Vacation Specialist Tip: Be aware that the ferry boats that take you to Disney Springs from either Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter stop at both resorts. They do not have their own separate ferries, so factor extra time in to accommodate both stops. Boat Transportation will not run in extreme weather, and guests will be rerouted to bus transportation.

Resorts with Walkable Access

Some resorts are so close to the parks you can simply walk:

  • Disney’s Contemporary and Grand Floridian Resort – Walk to Magic Kingdom in about 10 minutes.

  • Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn Resorts – Walk into Epcot’s International Gateway entrance. *You can also walk to Hollywood Studios, but not recommended as it is a hike.

Best for: Guests who want ultimate flexibility without waiting for transportation.

Vacation Specialist Tip: Your children may be too old for a stroller at home, but not at Disney! Most people under estimate the amount of steps you take on a Disney vacation and little legs might not be able to keep up. Be sure to book your stroller rental in advance.
