If you’ve been dreaming about a Walt Disney World vacation, spring is one of the most magical—and surprisingly strategic—times to go. Between perfect weather, gorgeous blooms, special offerings you can’t get any other time of year, and savings for families — spring brings a special kind of pixie dust to your trip. Here’s why it deserves a spot on your travel calendar.
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
Spring at Walt Disney World means EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom — literally. The festival transforms the park with:
Stunning character topiaries - think your favorite Disney icons sculpted in flowers and greenery
Outdoor kitchens - serving fresh, seasonal bites and treats
Garden exhibits and themed playgrounds - perfect for families
Live entertainment - the Garden Rocks Concert Series (and your Allonsy Travel agent can book this dining package for you!)
It’s one of the most beautiful times of year at EPCOT, with bright colors, fresh flavors, and a relaxing atmosphere that invites you to slow down and explore.
Vacation Specialist Tip: Avoid the first and last days of the festival as it will have higher crowds and longer lines at the food booths.

The Reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Spring 2026 also means the return of a fan-favorite: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!
This iconic Magic Kingdom coaster—often called “the wildest ride in the wilderness!”—is reopening after refurbishment, making it the perfect time to experience the refreshed thrills.
Whether it’s your must-do attraction or you’re finally tall enough to ride — nothing beats that first drop and those sweeping views of Frontierland. Spring visitors often get to be among the first to hop aboard again after refurbishments.
Disney After Hours Events
If you love lower wait times and a more relaxed park experience, spring (and early summer) bring a huge perk: Disney After Hours events.
These separately ticketed evenings offer:
Much lower crowds than normal park hours
Access to top attractions with minimal wait times - time to get in all your must-dos!
Complimentary snacks and drinks (Free Mickey Bars?! Yes, Please!)
The chance to enjoy nighttime ambiance - Have you seen the Castle and Big Thunder Mountain at night? Beautiful!
These events are offered on select nights at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. Your Allonsy Travel Agent will secure these tickets for you as well!
The Free Kids Dining-Plan Offer: A Big Perk for Families
Here’s a new reason (especially if you have young kids) to consider booking a Disney trip: for stays in 2026, Disney is offering a free dining plan for kids ages 3–9 with the purchase of the dining plan for the adults in your party.
How it works:
If you book a package that includes a stay at a Disney Resort hotel + theme park tickets + a paid dining plan for guests ages 10+, then children ages 3–9 in your party get a dining plan at no extra cost.
That means meals and snacks for the family are prepaid for everyone over 10 and Free for kids 9 and under — which can significantly reduce the stress (and cost) of eating in the parks, especially for families visiting with younger children.
The offer helps with budgeting and gives families more flexibility and predictability when it comes to food — so you can focus on rides, shows, and memories instead of meal-by-meal expenses.
For a spring or early-summer 2026 trip, this offer can make a big difference — especially for multiple park days, character dining, or multiple meals per day.
Gorgeous Weather (And It Makes a Difference!)
Spring weather in Orlando tends to be warm but comfortable, with plenty of sunny days and more moderate humidity compared to summer. That means:
More pleasant park touring
Easier mid-day breaks
Happier kiddos (and adults!)
Better stamina for long park days
Plus, your photos will be full of blue skies and bright flowers — can’t beat that!
Travel Specialist Tip: Spring also brings the beginning of the rainy season. Do not panic if a week before your trip the forecast shows rain every day. Most of the time it is quick showers that pass quickly.
